Pupils debate key issues

EIGHTY students from four schools took part in a Mini Model United Nations, held yesterday at the Bahrain School in Juffair.

The 14 to 18-year-olds, from St Christopher's School, Bahrain Bayan School, Naseem International School and Bahrain School, represented over 60 countries in debates on weapons of mass destruction and terrorism.

After the debate, students suggested various resolutions for each subject.

The general assembly was chaired by Bahrain School students secretary-general Bill Marczak and co-chairs Satoko Kanamori and Kelvin Liew.

The event was organised by Bahrain School Model UN co-ordinator Randy McCord and Bahrain School host teacher Viviana Villairna.
