A LEADERSHIP seminar will be held by YMCA's Bahrain Counsellors Forum for officials of various Indian organisations today. Indian Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty will open the event, being held at the Indian Embassy's consular hall, Adliya, at 3pm.
Kerala-based Empower Institute of Career and Personality Development director James Joseph and Defence Institute of Psychology, New Delhi, former chief instructor Colonel R G Nair are the speakers.
Mr Joseph is the former higher secondary education director of Kerala and Col Nair is a former member of the Service Selection Board in India and a professor and head of the department of human engineering at the College of Engineering Technology in Trivandrum.
Both of them are currently in Bahrain to hold a personality development programme for teenagers being organised by the YMCA's BCF.
The event, entitled Empower, is being held at the New Millennium School, Zinj, and is being attended by more than 140 students from different schools in Bahrain.
The grand finale of the programme will be held at the Bahrain Society of Engineers' auditorium, Juffair, at 7.30pm on October 4.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Nizar Al Baharna will be the chief guest and the Indian Ambassador will be the guest of honour.
Meanwhile, YMCA Bahrain will be represented at the YMCA's 150th anniversary celebrations opening in New Delhi today, said YMCA vice president and BCF chief consultant Dr John Panackel.
Indian President Prathibha Patil will open the three-day celebrations, where YMCA Bahrain president Soman Baby has been invited to present a paper on YMCA's activities in the Gulf, he revealed.
