Ex-convict held over theft

AN ex-convict has been arrested for stealing a car stereo, after he was identified by his fingerprints, reports SARA SAMI.

"The defendant was tracked down by police after the theft was reported by the Bahraini car owner," a Public Prosecution spokesman said yesterday. "The police were able to lift his fingerprints from the car, which enabled them to trace the Bahraini ex-convict." The man has denied the charges. He is being held in custody for a week on theft charges until his case goes to court.
