MANAMA: The Cabinet yesterday announced a surplus of BD42.9 million for last year's government budgetary accounts.

Overall effective state revenues topped BD2,036.6m while budgetary expenditure reached BD1,818m.

Expenditure includes BD1,331m in recurrent funds, the session chaired by Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa revealed.

Meanwhile, BD175.7m were also recycled as part of the 2007 expenditure budget.

The figures were released as the Cabinet approved the final statement of 2007 unified budgetary accounts.

A statement will be submitted to the parliament as scheduled.

The final state accounts have been calculated in accordance with the highest financial management norms, the Cabinet said in a statement.
