Patient attacks nurse over jab

POLICE were last night looking for a Bahraini man who allegedly assaulted a nursing assistant at Salmaniya Medical Complex.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, started hurling abuses at Accident and Emergency Department staff after he was refused a morphine injection, said sources.

The incident happened when the patient was asked to register at around 4pm, but he refused, saying he was a 'regular' patient at the hospital and should be given the jab, they said.

"Doctors tried to explain to him, but he pushed a nursing assistant to the ground and threatened other staff with assault," said the sources.

"Security officials, who were called, tried to reason with the man, but he grabbed his CPR card from a staff member and stormed out of the hospital."

The nursing assistant filed a case following the incident with the police, who told the GDN that they were looking for the assailant.
