MANAMA: Bahrain yesterday hailed the landmark visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to his "second country". "This is the historic visit of a historic leader known the world over by his achievements," His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said.
He was speaking as he chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
He also paid tribute to King Abdullah for his achievements in serving religion and the nation and promoting Arab and Islamic causes.
"The scenes of official and popular joy which filled Bahrain reflect the status of King Abdullah and Saudi Arabia in the hearts of each Bahraini," he said, hailing the solid relations bonding both countries. He also lauded His Majesty King Hamad and King Abdullah for consoliding Bahrain-Saudi ties, building on a deeply-anchored joint heritage of strong relations.
"King Abdullah's visit is surely an added value to our steadily growing relations," the Premier said. "The visit and talks will boost co-operation and consolidate the GCC march," he added.
"The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is here among his family," the Premier said, wishing the Saudi King and the accompanying delegation good stay in their second home, Bahrain.
