Bahraini students hailed for achievements

A LUNCHEON was held yesterday in honour of visiting University of Pennsylvania president Dr Amy Gutmann by the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Programme (CPISP) at the Capital Club, Bahrain Financial Harbour.

The visit aims to foster relations with educational institutions in Bahrain and to maintain ties with the university's alumni.

CPISP director Dr Ronald Koller said it had strong ties with the university and six scholarship students have been enrolled in it since its inception in 1999.

Dr Gutmann praised the academic achievements and calibre of CPISP scholars as well as the Bahraini students in the university.

She also affirmed that she looked forward to further strengthen ties with the university's alumni in Bahrain.

Also present at the event were Economic Development Board (EDB) chief executive officer and CPISP board member Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, US Ambassador Joseph Adam Ereli, sponsors and officials from various educational institutions.
