Punj Lloyd unit wins Aramco deal

RIYADH: Punj Lloyd, an Indian conglomerate offering EPC services in energy and infrastructure, said its Saudi unit has won a construction contract from Saudi oil giant Aramco for its Yanbu export refinery project.

Dayim Punj Lloyd said the contract is for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of offsite pipelines for the Red Sea Refining Company being set up on the Western coast of the kingdom, along the Red sea.

Dayim Punj Lloyd chief executive Adnan Abduljawad said: "This is our first major pipeline project in the kingdom.

"It will be a foundation stone for exploring more opportunities in the sector and strengthening our footprint in the market.

"This contract is a clear recognition of our expertise and strength in delivering quality projects to the client's satisfaction," Abduljawad said.

It also includes utility services - industrial, potable and process water, sanitary sewers, fuel gas supply - as well as very large, 3400mm/2900mm diametre reinforced thermosetting plastic pipelines for sea water supply and return pipelines.

The scope also includes associated custody metering, electrical, instrumentation and control systems.

The order will be executed over 36 months.
