A stronger Bahrain

THE kingdom has emerged stronger thanks to His Majesty King Hamad's wisdom and Bahrainis who rallied behind the leadership, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said yesterday.

He was speaking as he received at his court Al Menbar National Islamic Society board members, led by chairman Dr Abdullatif Ahmed Al Shaikh and Al Menbar Parliamentary Bloc members, led by its head Dr Ali Ahmed.

Bahrainis' honourable stance, national awakening, resolution and full-fledged support for the leadership have had a positive impact not only in the kingdom, but also in the region and throughout the world, he said, adding that "with patience, cohesion and solidarity, we have averted crisis and emerged stronger than ever."

HRH the Premier said that what had happened during the unrest would not be tolerated, overlooked or forgotten.

"Bahrain is a state of law and institutions, and those found guilty of offending the nation should be held accountable," he stressed, adding that those who stabbed the country in the back should not get away without punishment."

He said that conspiracies revealed during the recent crisis would be tackled effectively.

HRH Premier also lauded the crucial role played by parliamentary blocs during the crisis, adding that the parliament is the best venue for bringing about reform.

He pointed out that those incidents have uncovered a dangerous plot aiming to undermine the country's security, stability and future.

"Thanks to the sound policies and wisdom of His Majesty and solidarity and loyalty shown by citizens, the kingdom succeeded in foiling those evil plans," he said.

HRH the Premier also called upon Bahrainis to focus on development and nation-building and adhere to national unity which has always been a stimulant for more landmark achievements.

"Through optimising accomplishments, we can heal the rifts created by the crisis," he said, and added that "we may have different views, which is natural in a democracy, but we have to agree on one principle - loyalty to our nation."
