THE Bahrain Journalists' Association (BJA) is taking part in the 12th General Conference of Arab Journalists Union in Cairo which began yesterday.
It is being held under the slogan "Free Press...Unites and not Divides," in Fairmont Heliopolis Hotel and will end tomorrow.
The conference is held once in four years, during which a new leadership is elected.
BJA is represented by Bahrain News Agency director and association deputy chairman Muhannad Suleiman, Freedoms Committee head Abdullah Al Mannai, Foreign Relations Committee head Ahdiya Ahmed and member Maram Al Bardolli.
More than 200 journalists from 20 Arab countries and observers from 15 international organisations, including the Arab League, UN organisations, and the International Federation of Journalists are attending.
The forum will discuss political, professional and legal issues concerning Arab journalists, particularly freedom of Press, opinion and expression.
