THE Royal Police Academy team won the Men's Police Open Volleyball Championship, beating Public Directorate of Guards 2-0 (25-20, 25-22) in the final match at Riffa Club gym in Hunainiya.
The final was patronised by Royal Police Academy's Col. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa as the winners and runners-up were honoured at the awarding ceremony.
Individual awards were also presented on this occasion as the best spiker and receiver, which were both won by Academy team members Ali Ebrahim and Ali Hamza, while Hassan Ali of Guards was the best playmaker.
Eight teams, representing different internal departments and sections of the Interior Ministry, competed it out in the week-long tournament.
The championship was supervised by representatives of the Public Security Sports Federation.
