A MAN accused of inciting hatred for Bahrain's leadership has been taken in custody pending investigation.
"The suspect, who is also accused of posting sectarian-tainted tweets, will stand trial at the criminal court on finalising legal procedures," Northern Governorate Chief Prosecutor Hussain Al Buali said.
The man was arrested on arriving at the airport from abroad.
The Public Prosecution issued a warrant to arrest the man following a notification from the general directorate of anti-corruption, economic and electronic security.
Police revealed the identity of the Twitter account owner, who turned out to have other accounts on social media websites.
Appearing before the Public Prosecution, the man denied owning the Twitter account but admitted to owning the email account.
